It’s working. Value to taxpayers. Support to our country. Opportunities for people to help themselves. That is why we support Native 8(a) contracting.
The numbers tell the story. Native 8(a) is less than 2% of the $500 billion federal contracting market. Profits from 8(a) contracts make a tremendous difference in the lives of Native people, many of whom live in areas where unemployment is high and economic opportunities are almost non-existent.
Native participation in the 8(a) program leads to jobs, economic development and other benefits including college scholarships, apprenticeships, internships and cultural preservation programs. It allows Native communities the opportunity to grow and prosper. When these corporations do well, they help large groups of people, not a single owner or person. Native 8(a) is truly a hand up, NOT a hand out. Simply put, Native 8(a) works.
